In Africa and the Amazon, lip plates are placed into a young woman’s pierced hole in the upper and/or lower lip soon after she reaches puberty. Much like in Thailand, larger modifications signify economic and social strength. Though this tradition is practiced in two quite separate places, researchers have found that these labrets were independently invented.

I want to set this room up as the actual space a woman receiving her piercing/lip plate insertion would be. An actual hut with all the materials and components of the ritual inside (see video for example).
