Tooth sharpening is another practice used by various cultures. In Bali, teeth represent anger, jealousy and negative emotions, so they are filed down. In Vietnamese and Sudanese tribes, teeth sharpening is used to maintain the balance between body and soul. These permanent modifications are made to keep the souls happy, which helps tribe members avoid death for as long as possible.

For Bali, I hope to get an authentic modifier who can come and talk about their experience getting their teeth sharpened. Maybe talk about how they maintain the sharpness and compare/contrast to brushing teeth or other oral hygiene rituals.
